Bed is my favourite place. Especially when said bed has clean, Egyptian cotton sheets laid out all over it. So this is my kind of bar. It's in Miami. You book a bed instead of a booth. Hilarious. Wonder if it's because nightclub owners have realised we are all waaaay too tired to stand up and dance?

Today, I fancy living in a tree. Surrounded by all that living, breathing timber busy locking up carbon so that future generations can live and breathe in the world. It would be perfect - especially for my mood today. Sick of my house. Sick of housework. Imagine how dusty you could let a treehouse get? And only birds and insects could care!

Would an $80,000 bed help you sleep better? I loved this story aboutinsomnia (the link is below and its written by one of my favourite journos, Daphne Guinness) and when I came across this bed designed by Agnieszka Bernacka, I wondered if it would be more helpful than a Valium or 95 to make you sleep at night. The bed was created after two years of research into sleep habits and uses light, sound and massage therapies to "create an environment to enhance all the senses - forming a place to rejuvenate, meditate and above all sleep". The viscoelastic memory foam mattress has an in-built massage system (mmm, massage). That egg-like shell of the Lomme bed has a special system which blocks harmful electromagnetic waves and radiation, while a specially designed sleep button isolates all electricity away from the bed. Wow. Sounds better than what I sleep with.

If you've been to the beach or struggled to park your car in Sydney, you may see the virtue of this garden-saving carparking idea. It was a concept on show in London last year and I can't seem to find any details on costs or whether the prototype will ever be available for real. Is this a nice way to keep the garden AND a place to put the car - or should cars be relegated to the street, like the planet-sucking vermin they are? (OK, that might be a bit harsh - but it's late at night.)

Laundries are a room often relegated to nothing more than a cupboard. They don't attract the same passion as a kitchen. And aren't as sanctuary-like as a bathroom. Poor laundries. Sigh. I'm washing out for you.
